|A very nice George III Parish Constable truncheon Solid heavy mahogany wood with hand painted coat of arms. Dated to approximately post 1801.Comes with very old and faded envelope that it was wrapped in with details to front. Also an accompanying letter dated 1961 from a Chief Constable of Transport Police to a Mrs. Smith who's father owned the truncheon and was himself a Detective Inspector. Some expected wear and chips to the paintwork and several dents. A nice item from the Napoleonic period and early Police history.10.5inches.
