Very rare M1917 Stielhandgranate German Grenade.Label to head reads 'insert detonator before use'. The head shows oxidation to the steel but still retains its original green paint..Suspension hook intact.Dark wood handle with expected age wear and stamp markings '51/2 SEK JLB' .The 51/2 SEK is seconds (Sekunden)- The time of the delay fuse. JLB is the maker. The screwcap is intact but the cap cover plate is loose.There is no porcelain ball or pull string.
