Beautifully crafted wooden trinket box dated 1934 and etched to front with the Hitler Youth diamond and the DAF logo. This box would have been made by a young Hitler Youth member at a early Labour front Hitler Youth meeting where Youth members would learn skills in craftmanship that would help in gaining placements in technical jobs and other DAF related industry. Assessments would be given and graded such as making this box.Boxes like this were also made as commemorative items and presentation gifts. Inside box has etched in German the words 'Deutsche Handwerks Arbeit' meaning 'German Craftmanship' and the Handicraft guilds logo guaranteeing work quality.
The brass hinge closes and opens perfectly. Nice early piece of Hitler Youth history.
