Manufactured by the Pioneer Instrument Division of Bendix Aviation Corporation. This compass is stamped No 1292 indicating an early production contract, most likely manufactured in the late 1930s or very early 1940s.This model of compass was widely used on aircraft such the Vought OS2U Kingfisher observation floatplane, SBD Dauntless dive bombers and the TBM Avenger torpedo bombers. Good condition with clear glass still retaining liquid.
