(Code: 1119) | |   The camera was fitted on R.A.F. Reconnaissance Spitfire's and Hurricanes. It used 16 mm Orthochromatic film supplied in 25ft lenghts with frame speed of 16,18,20 seconds,corresponding to the rates of fore of the Lewis Vickers K. It was controlled by an electrical switch operated by the gun firing pneumatic system. The camera has its original R.A.F. grey painted finish and maker marked 'Williamson MFG Co.Ltd , London & Reading' and marked with Air Ministry Logo and ref 14a/1389 and dated NOV/P/44. It was used in aerial reconnaissance and gunnery training capturing images of enemy targets. Early 12 volt version these were upgraded to 24 volts in 1943. The storage case features a red star which understand was added to items being sent to the Soviet Forces on the Eastern Front. The storage case has Air Ministry stamps and stencil markings and painted in R.A.F. grey blue finish. There are two magazines included ,one in the camera and spare one in box.

(Code: 1669) | |   British Army 'Tabby' Infra red Night Vision Binoculars .One of the first ever night vision devices used operationally. Lens plate is stamped ''ZA 23001 CU 35''. Complete with rubber head rest,webbing head strap and cables. These Infra Red Tabbies were made famous from 1942 and were used on tanks and on the LVT Water Buffalo during the famous Rhine River Crossing. The Tabby is complete and excellent condition with Ministry Of Supply Acceptance Label still attached and dated 11.1.44.
Originally designed to be issued to British Special Forces ,but due to weight issue were not suitable for combat,they were then issued to Armoured Crews and Reconnaissance vehicles.

A time capsule indeed.

Trousers in good condition of dark navy wool ,several small holes to side of one leg otherwise good condition.Cap is dark navy wool with black centre band .Bullion embroidered crown and anchor badge.Leather chinstrap is perished to one side and detached from retaining button.Inside blue canvas lining with stitched owner's label name of 'G.CHUBB' Brown sweatband and leather stitched visor.The visor has some staining to upper surface.Rear crown of cap has some signs of wear and several small moth nips to edges.The crown edge to front has wear with thin hole along edge and also the stitched material where crown and upper cap meets the material has come away.

Period children's toy tank from WW2. Made of wood and tin, with tracks that turn and rotating turret. These tanks were made by returning soldiers and those often on home leave for their children.
