(Code: 4253) | | UK 1st pressing of the Beatles debut album Please Please Me (MONO PMC 1202) Released on March 22 1963 this is the holy grail among vinyl collectors due to its extremely short run.
The black and gold label was discontinued by Parlophone only a few weeks after the albums release making it incredibly rare.
The runout groove shows stamped XEX 421 1N number which denotes the very first master cut of side 1 and the stamped XEX422 1N for side 2 confirms very first master cut for side 2.
Front cover sleeve in good condition with some wear. However there is a small split to bottom right corner.Bottom right corner has 'Photo Angus McBean' which also confirms absolute first pressing and top right corner has 'mono' font used exclusively on early 1963 first pressings. The rear sleeve at top left has a split .
Rear of sleeve has the Emitex Roundel logo in bottom right corner. The text format and font and liner notes align with the March 1963 1st print run. Paper inner sleeve is the important EMI/Parlophone sleeve that was introduced by EMI at the start of 1963 and only used for a brief period. Overall condition is good with the vinyl record having some surface marks but plays well with no jumps.
A very rare record indeed.
