Named to NCO Eberhard Rottmaier .He trained as clerk and telephone operator and served DEC 41-MAY 45 with Cable Platoons of Fest.Nachr.Stab 8 and till Feb 42 was based in Offenburg in S.W. Germany until being transferred to Western France. After June 44 Normandy invasion the unit returned to the Saar Region of Western Germany .
Included are six documents regarding his stay in France after the war as a POW. His Dogtag with original string attached. A photograph of him with his wife/girlfriend. The Soldbuch dated 12.3.40 is well filled in with passphoto. His Wehrpass is a replacement issued one and dated 29.9.44,the photograph has been removed. Two double sided maps in German language with maps of Dumfries, Durham, Kingston Upon Hull, Lanark and Lancaster. He was entitled to the West Wall medal.
